I recently came across something in my friend’s make-up bag, lip scrub. She paid £5 for 25g worth of pretty sugar. I, then became more aware of sugar scrubs during my little browses around beauty departments, which I found were ridiculously expensive for some mere baking staples. So, I did a little ‘googling’, and here’s what I found.
Are you familiar with pricey products that outline Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) also known as Glycolic Acid as one of it’s powerful ingrediant? Well, Sugar is alpha-hydroxy rich! Honestly, you could be paying about £25 for some sugar in a fancy bottle (I did!) How great is it to know that you have a beauty secret in your kitchen cupboard?!
I used it for the first time today, and I must say I am AMAZED by how smooth and supple my skin feels already! Now, I am a person who has gone overboard with exfoliating in the past (I learnt, my lesson). Nothing compares to this little humble crumbly stuff that has been sitting in my dark cupboard waiting for me to lay my hands on it. I’ll probably only need to use this sugar scrub once a week.
I’ll post some recipes for you in another post, without this rambling attached.
